There are 3000 full time students participating in programs on campus including 280 students in the residence. Loyalist College of Applied Arts and Technology has a School of Applied Science and Technology, School of Business and Computer Studies, School of Health and Community Services, School of Human Studies,and School of Media and Tourism. Students successfully completing any of our 1, 2, or 3 year programs receive certificates and diplomas that are recognized across Canada and internationally.

Encompassing the counties of Frontenac, Lennox and Addington in Eastern Ontario. Limestone District School Board (LDSB) is a public school board. Our Board serves over 27,000 students at 70 schools with 2,200 employees. There are 58 elementary schools and 12 secondary schools in the Limestone District School Board. As the amalgamation progresses, we will be merging material from the Peterborough County Board of Education website and The Northumberland-Clarington Board of Education website into the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board website.

Loyalist College is one of 25 Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology operated under the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training for the Province of Ontario. Situated approximately two hours east of Toronto, in the city of Belleville, its wooded 200-acre campus lies close to housing, shopping, entertainment and the Lake Ontario waterfront. Loyalist is easily accessible from the highway 401, Ontario's major east-west traffic artery, as well as by commuter trains, buses, and local transit.
Setting the strategic direction for the College is one of the primary responsibilities for the Board of Governors. The Board represents citizens in the group of communities that make up the region served by St. Lawrence College. This strategic plan, Quality Education for the 21st Century, reaffirms the College's mandate to provide quality learning experiences which are integral to the economic and social development of the region.
1938 - In August, with World War II only months away, the small communities of Queen's and Kingston are moved briefly onto the world stage when United States President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, accepting an honorary degree, affirms in an address broadcast around the globe: "The Dominion of Canada is part of the sisterhood of the British Empire. I give to you assurance that the people of the United States will not stand idly by if domination of Canadian soil is threatened by any other Empire."
